BASICKS is a fashion brand from Tokyo, newly launched by Masanori Morikawa, the designer behind CHRISTIAN DADA, who has long led the domestic mode fashion scene. It is a unisex brand founded on the concept of "circulation/outlining of daily wear." Based on basic designs, every piece is sewn with white stitching, visualizing design within daily wear by "circulating/outlining" it. By imbuing the white stitching—a feature often found in existing designs—with the meaning of an "outline," the brand creates new values similar to the concept of readymades in the art scene, proposing that no matter how trends or styles change over time, the "outline" remains unchanged and continues to circulate. |
